MOON THEORY

Inside the book

Read a little.
See what stays.

Selected passages from the working manuscript, reproduced without rewriting. This is a short selection, not a continuous chapter.

The prism

Staring at the artwork, it felt like I was seeing some equation, like a cheat sheet. Like Albert Einstein's E=MC2. Something was being shown to me: Consciousness is coming into the body and mind from a source, and then on the other side of it is a rainbow. I realized that what happens while it’s in the prism is basically what I refer to as Rocco, or as Me. So what did I need to do? I needed clarity as to who I really was. I needed to tune the prism.

Practice and purpose

Yoga calls this chapter Sadhana, a daily devotional surrendering of the ego to the divine through ritual practice. It’s a kind of calibrating for our worldly purpose and how we show up with who we are as the eternal, soul self. Sadhana is the purification process we must go through so we are more dialed in for our dharma. Dharma is your worldly purpose, the form of devotional service to the world that you show up in on a daily practical basis. Our dharma is the way we are meant to help. Sadhana gets us primed for that.

The light we share

When they did the required things that brought them into total aliveness and completion, they were like the sun, shining their light into the world. Not only did they illuminate their own lives, they gave light to others. The details varied from experience to experience, but the result remained: To become intensely focused, involved with life, and burning with passion, inspiration, and a paradoxical sense of completion and wholeness on the path to more of that.
